JKR's staff working at home

Adios Laos - Dirgahayu Indonesia

Tiada pendedahan bolasepak wanita diperingkat kanak-kanak lagi, sekolah rendah mahupun sekolah menengah.

Selamat tinggal laos…dirgahayu Indonesia.

Seagames 2009 Malaysia 1- Vietnam 0

Frustration

Frustrated with your internet broadband ?.. that’s the best word normally we used, until we call it’s “ BEROK BANG”. The modem shown speed at 7.2Mbps and it’s running at HSDPA but why take half and hour to open any webpage some time. The modem that has been running on HSDPA and its should be fasters to access the internet but why it’s turn slow to the point of intolerable and unacceptable level.

Non of service providers rep. or agent informs us that Malaysian standard maximum level of internet connectivity at this time is only at 3.6Mbps for 3G’s mobile internet broadband.

So, what is 7.2Mbps, that’s the maximum speed level between your modem and computer or laptop. The maximum bandwidth between your modem and providers transmission still up to 3.6Mbps

I had tested four of our local’s broadband service provider and even conducted my own speedtest and fully utilized for a month, and here’s are my conclusion.

Streamyx – Number One. Don’t ever under estimate just because mobile internet already in the markets. The proven better of data speeds, stability and the unlimited download still the main point why
Streamyx will be my first choice. The service is the right choice for business and home usage. The only problems is certain places having a problem to access internet when there is a heavy rain and another thinks is Streamyx is not mobile internet, unless you mobile your self to cyber café or starbuck or any places with Wi-Fi services.

P1-Wimax – This is 4G technology broadband provider. It’s only available at limited coverage area, so only a few people will be getting benefit’s with it ; maybe they are still new to develop a new infrastructure which is costly. The speeds are good, uploading data a bit slowly and it’s not suitable for business purposes. You still have a limit’s on download data and if you wants to go for unlimited like streamyx…very…very expensive. Like I said. Only suitable for home usage.

Maxis broadband. I am still new with it. What I can say it here..3G environment will be the same, the system shared between voice and data, you may find a problem when high usage on data or voice. Limited coverage for HSDPA for the east coast is the main problem here.

Celcom broadband. Come to the no 1, 3G’s wireless broadband provider. They had a huge number’s of subscriber, even for me they tried to give the best service but with the over flow of their subscriber, I don’t think s the customers will be happy with their service. The rate is competitive, download a higher among‘s 3G’s competitor but we can still hear the words “ BEROKBANG”

All the service provider’ promoting the best package and system that they have, you may take your time to select whatever suit your requirement. The worst if you are refer to their representative which is not well-versed with the technical knowledge of the product. People consider broadband service for its speed and service. People are becoming smarter. They know how to compare. But if you don’t even know what speed transfer rate is, don’t even know what your competitor is offering, don’t know the unique selling proposition (USP) of your product is, don’t you even dare try to sell. Simple!

P1 Wimax - YOU WILL NEVER REGRET!!!

May be influenced by P1 wimax advertisement, ( potong..bila nak potong ) or cut when you wants to cut. I call my friend from one of P1 wimax's dealer to test the realibility of their wireless broadband which is agresively promoting by another local broadband provider, Packet One Network (malaysia) Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Green Packet Berhad. I had an experience before this with 3G and streamyx and this is an opportunity for me to experience it with a 4G's technology.

Their representative come to my house because according their system, my area does not within P1 wimax's coverage. If I want to test, they themself must make sure that there is WIMAX broadband coverage in my area. The test is running succesfull at 1.2mbps. download level and upload at 0.3 mbps. by using speedtestdotnet.

The divice that they supply to me is basic wireless modem with wifi USB adapter's and according to them I can be online within 2 hrs. Yes..within 1 hour..they call me to confirm that I can start surfing...

Until today, I m really happy with the service, even the line drop also, that within the acceptable level if I compare with 3G's network.

I m recommend to all ...potong..bila nak potong..jangan tak potong, but one more thing before that...there is level of download ( 5GB only ). If you wants to go mobile..just forget it. The coverage area are limited at the moment...That's the stronggest point of 3G's.

So..think before you POTONG...I...MEMANG DAH POTONG..

AdBrite-make money with it

This is another option for us to generate an income for our site. I joint Adbrite for the last 3 month, but as I can see my advert income keep increase and I really strongly recommend to all to join this program. What ‘s the strong point how you can earn an income without somebody click your ads?... With Full Page Ads, the ads will be automatic prompted and the earning is base on pay per view. I can choose any ads that can give me more revenue and reject which ever less income for you.

Adbrite you can Aim High to Maximize Revenue

How prominently you display ads on your site will have a big impact on your earnings. We often see top-of-page ad placements earn 10 times more than ads on the bottom of the same page. To boost revenue, give your ads prominent placement, high up on your pages.
Reach your visitors wherever you think they’re most engaged on your site. For text and banner ads, AdBrite supports five IAB-standard graphical ad dimensions: Banner (468x60), Leaderboard (728x90), Medium rectangle (300x250), Skyscraper (120x600), Wide skyscraper (160x600).
Banner zones—which enable banner or text ads—typically yield more revenue than text-only zones. Two of the highest-yielding ad types are top leaderboards and left skyscraper ads beside your newest content. On your own,You can determine where text and banner ads show up on your page, but the Full Page Ads and Inline ad types are usually enabled for entire pages. Britepic zones are enabled for specific videos and images.
For Full Page Ads, I recommend that you place the HTML code snippet at the top of the page to ensure that the ad fires properly. You have the ability to set how many clicks a user has to make on your site before being prompted to view the ad. Setting it to fewer clicks will boost earnings.
For Inline ads—which appear only when a user scrolls over a given word in your content—you can specify any content area where you don’t want the ads to appear.

Try Multiple Ad Formats

AdBrite offers a full range of ad types, each of which can be customized to fit your earnings targets and the content and style of your website. Start by using basic text and banner ads, and also expand to next-generation ad formats like Full Page Ad and Inline ads to make full use of your site traffic.
Text ads are easy to run—they’re simple, effective, and you can determine their look to fit the style of your site. Banner ads typically command higher bids from top advertisers, who use this high-impact medium to communicate about their brand. You’ll earn on text ads on a CPC (cost-per-click) basis and on banner ads on a CPM (cost-per-thousand-impressions) basis.
I also encourage you also to enable Full Page Ad and Inline ads for all the zones you create. All you have to do is make sure that the appropriate boxes are checked as you’re setting up your zones. Full Page Ads earn on a CPV (cost-per-view) basis, while Inline ads are CPC text ads.
If you already have an existing zone, you can change the ad formats selected by logging in to Manage ad zones, select “Edit Ad Zone Preferences” then check to show Full Page Ads and Inline ads. Simply move the snippet of AdBrite code to the appropriate place in the HTML.
This is only a basic info, If you are intrusted to know more or you may joint now please follow this link:

SMS or eMAIL

The comparison between SMS and e-mail has always been an issue of debate in all the technological forums around the world. And this debate is not unforeseen. It had to happen, as when two equally powerful technologies namely computers and mobile phones are standing face to face with each other. The trend peacefully coexisted for quite a while and both the techniques of communications are still very much popular in their own respective niche markets. And each medium has its own similarities and weaknesses that compensate the drawbacks of each other.

The comparison arrived with the convergence of these devices where computers started serving the function of calling and the mobile phones started working like computers. Then started the competition between both mediums. While we analyse both mediums, it should be understood that both are equally relevant in their own regards and they cannot replace each other. SMS is a short message that is a more informal method of staying in touch and yet it is more accessible in comparison to an e-mail. This is a genuine sentiment amongst all of us that an e-mail is generally used by all the white collared executives to communicate in a more dignified way. On the other hand the SMS is used in a very informal fashion by the blue collared people. Never mind these constructions; they can not be 100% applicable in both the cases.

There started a better and more innovative version of the SMS, namely MMS, that had more to do with the videos and clips but the concept couldn't pick up in the mass market and was termed as a big flop. And to an extent it is a failure. However, the drawback of SMS is that you have a limited word limit
(160 words) and you are charged money for sending an SMS. However, on the other hand, the e-mail has always been free of cost and is more economical and without any word limit. So, you could write as long as you can while using your e-mails.

But SMS is more efficient than the E-mails as it would work everywhere and you could check your SMS even while you are outside. With the advent of the blackberry connectivity and various e-mail protocols in a mobile phone, checking your e-mails is possible through a mobile phone also but again the cost factor abstain us in doing so.

Thus, both these mediums have retained their hold on their respective markets and thus despite all the comparisons, it seems that the both ways are inevitable and can't take each other's place.

MEMORIES

Its remind me way back in 1986, my first job as an EDP Executive at the prestige resort in Kuantan, Pahang known as Ramada Beach Resort.

As I remember, Ramada
was the only resort with fully interfaces between computer and communication device in
the east coast Malaysia to accommodate their guest requirement. A busy re
sort with a mixed local and foreign guest, definitely a system from the reservation, check-in, on line billing, ch
eck out and accounting back office must be accurate on time

NEC ASTRA 3700 Mini Computer as a server and for communication PABX’s SIEMEN NIXDORF 8818, which is interfaces for call billing charges and room update for housekeeping. Total terminal's, 4 for front office, 1 reservation, 1 operator, 2 for account dept and 4 for other functions. All the restaurants and other outlets are also inter link to front office system.

You want to know how big is hard-disk drive for Nec Astra 3700? I mean at that time technology…for 128kb is 10kg weight…..you can compare with current technologies…..

It’s really hard for me to apply annual leave and the worse part during a weekend , the only communication available is fixed line phone and pager. Until my mother told me , why not you marry to your computer…and computer’s name also nice is it ..”ASTRA”. Half of my body is in the resort even my off day….yes, the only one way communication, my pager than I have to look for public phone and the driver came and pick me wherever I am… At the time I am the only who manage the system, than later the company employ another assistant for me. Therefore, with a latest technology in the market now… a new computer engineer can access to companies server at any time and any where....

Don't look for RAMADA Beach Resort any more in Kuantan, Because it is change to Coral Beach Resort and latest under the new owner De Rhe Beach Resort..

How to choose a Smartphone

Are ready to make a move from the ordinary cellphone to benafide a smartphone?. A phone with a keyboard, an OS run on the third party software and in general more robust feature set. Which one? Blackberry, Iphone, HTC or any smatphone run on windows mobile.

The answer depends on what you most need your smart phone for. Do you need a device that excels at e-mail or one that’s optimized for browsing the Web? And will the best smart phone for e-mailing or browsing also keep you entertained on a long journey?

I picked a winner in each of four main categories: Browsing the Web, E-mail, Photography, and Entertainment. But I’ll give you one guess which model got top marks in almost all the categories....
Iphone 3gs....

P1 Wimax now in Kuantan

P1 Wimax now available in Kuantan Town, this is what my friends sms me. The service where you can surf at high speed wireless broadband network. The 4th generation technologies come from as low as RM49/monthly for up to 400kbps(download) and up to 150kbps (upload) for home lite package-5GB usage threshold until RM339/monthly with speeds up to 2.4Mbps(download) and 500kbps (upload)-unlimited usage threshold.

If in term of monthly commitment, this package consider low if compare with existing competitors. The coverage within limited area which is not fully cover town area. For the users, they must be at selected town area in order to utillized the facilities, what about home base users? how many can benefits from this package?. Maybe this the introduction level, the providor might plan to increase the coverage area from time to time.

P1 Wimax's users might surf the internet at the highest speeds right now after years as a STREAMYX user. Its is wrong if we compare this two system, P1Wimax base on wireless mobile whereby STREAMYX run on fixed line. Why not compare with another wireless mobile network provider which is very very wide coverage and strong user support. For me, Wimax in Kuantan now is to give a choice for mobile workings user benefits from the technology. When more users subcribe...maybe WiMax faces the same problem same as others.

For P1 WiMax... Welcome to Kuantan.

EFFECTIVE MOBILE WORKING

To make mobile working more effective, you must make sure the technology basics are in place. I would like to suggest a few technology basics for you to consider.

1. INTERNET CONNECTIVITY.

Whether you are using cable or wireless broadband doesn't really matter, as long as its reliable and the fastest connection will be your advantages. If you choose mobile broadband for your internet connectivity, its better, coz you can move any where without sitting at one place doing the job. Wi-Fi is another option for you, but limitation place with Wi-Fi connection will be disadvantages for us.

2. RELIABLE COMPUTER

Advisable for you to have a laptop with a CORE 2 DUO processor and at least with a 2GB of RAM if you want to run demanding application.

3. LAPTOP REST.

Please use laptop rest to angle your laptop away from your desk. This is to prevent your laptop from overheating and keep it cool. Most of laptop nowdays equip with integrated USB's Hub to enable us to plug in extra peripherals such as coolen fan, mouse and extra keyboard.

4. USB"s MODEM OR 3G HANDPHONE

Without equipment, you cant acces to the internet. Normally you can choose using USB's MODEM with a 3G's data connectivity, but with a latest 3G's handphone and smartphone technology, you might consider this technology.

Booth technology can act as an modem and link to your laptop, wired or using bluetooth. You can surf the internet, read and send your E-Mail and answer to call at the same time. Refer to the right package from you communication provider.
